Black Pudding is in our opinion one of life’s little delicacies, but difficult to find in certain parts of the world. While we lived in Dublin, Southern Ireland, Black or White pudding was a staple part of our diet especially when it shared the plate with a “Full Irish Breakfast” and washed down with a pint of Guinness that can only be truly appreciated in Ireland.
So after a couple of conversations with the amazing and helpful team at Hinckley Meats in East End Market, they very obligingly told us they would be making Black Pudding last week and would post its production on social media. True to their word late last week they posted a picture of the said Black Pudding. We immediately replied that we would be down the next day before they sold out. The rest is history.
So, what to create with the Black Pudding? We decided to go classical and made grilled Black Pudding on a bed of crushed Minted Peas and topped with a perfectly Seared Scallop, either as an appetizer or light entrée this dish is bound to impress and will WOW your friends or guests.
