Mesa 21 at the Orlando Mexican Food Festival March 24th
Mesa 21, the beautiful Mexican restaurant that has cemented its well-earned place in the vibrant and expanding Ivanhoe Village restaurant scene, will be joining the likes of Frontera Cocina Mexicana by Rick Bayless and a host of other restaurants, crafts, artists and of course Tequila at the Orlando Mexican Food Festival to be held on Saturday March 24th from 1pm-6pm at Gaston Edwards Park in Ivanhoe Village.
Mesa 21 offers a “Real” and Authentic Mexican food experience and will be serving up some of their house specialties and according to Sandra Rios, one of the owners of the Mesa 21 group, a few surprises too!
Some of the great items on the Mesa 21 regular menu include:
Mesa 21 Guacamole – Fresh Guacamole served with Tortilla chips and Chicharron chips. Chunky well-seasoned and spiced and given a great Mesa 21 twist by adding Chicharron Chips (Pork rinds) as well as the traditional housemade Tortilla Chips. Really addictive!
Roasted Blooming Cauliflower – Fresh roasted cauliflower drizzled with chipotle mayo & garnished with Cotija cheese. We loved this dish, great to share and a real “Show stopper”.
Chile Relleno – Poblano pepper stuffed with a Mexican cheese blend. Covered in a “zesty” tomato sauce, queso fresco, Served with rice & beans. We have had this dish probably a thousand times in every conceivable style of restaurant, but this Mesa 21 version comes out tops. You can taste every element of this dish, not the “Mush” of flavors so often experienced.
A great recent addition to the menu is the Mesa 21 Molcajete. A lava stone cooking technique is used that perfectly absorbs all the spices and flavors of a combination of poblano peppers, onion, salsa verde and your choice of protein, Chicken, Carne Asada, Shrimp, Bistek plus many more options. Served with Pico de Gallo, Mexican cheese, Guacamole, Rice and housemade flour or corn Tortillas. A REAL taste of Mexico!
