Peach Sangria.

Sangria

Peach Sangria.

Summer is here and time for Sangria! This delicious drink of Spanish origin is a sort of “Punch” that traditionally consists of red wine, chopped fruit and a fortifying spirit of some style, usually brandy.

The name Sangria dates to circa 18th century Spain, and is generally believed to have been derived from the Spanish word for blood (Sangre), relating to the red color of the drink.

There are many variations and recipes and virtually no right or wrong ingredients within reason, more or less a concoction of your favorite flavors or seasonal availability of fruits.

Peaches are in season, so we created this recipe to take advantage of this delicious fruit

You will need:

  • 1 x bottle of your favorite dry red wine
  • ½ cup peach Schnapps
  • ¼ cup peach juice
  • 1 x cup lemonade
  • ½ cup triple sec
  • 1 x peach sliced
  • 1 x lime sliced
  • 2 x cups club soda

Method:

In a large pitcher mix together the Red Wine, Peach Schnapps, Peach juice, Lemonade & Triple sec. Stir well

Float slices of Peach and Lime on the mixture and either refrigerate overnight or serve over ice. Add the club soda just before serving for some Fizz!

Enjoy.
