Luke’s Kitchen & Bar – Revisited.

Beef Dip

Luke’s Kitchen & Bar – Revisited – 640 South Orlando Avenue Maitland.

Saturday was such a gorgeous day it seemed a shame not to take full advantage of the amazing weather and eat outdoors. So along with some great friends we chose to try out the “Al Fresco” dining at Luke’s.

As previously mentioned, Luke’s promotes its food style as Classic American with a modern twist and features Spit – Fired Chicken as one of their signature dishes, the rest of the lunch menu combines Soups, Salads, Sandwiches, with Ceviche’s and a Raw bar. Cocktails follow the current “On Point” trend of “Prohibition” stylings, we can vouch for the 4 Roses Old Fashioned, too good to stop at one!!

The patio at Luke’s is amazing with an “Indoor, Outdoor” bar area and casual seating located to the side of the restaurant, perfect for enjoying great food and drinks in the sunshine.

Firstly, a shout out to Maylene our server, who was patient, knowledgeable and made some great suggestions for both drinks and food, her recommendation of the Cornmeal Crusted Po-Boy with banana pepper remoulade really hit the spot.

Other standout dishes we tried were:

Mussels with herb fries – Saison beer broth base, cabbage and Texas toast – Great broth and perfectly cooked mussels. Whoever roasts vegetables at Luke’s needs complimenting, as with our last visit the taste was outstanding.

BBQ Spareribs with Carolina mustard glaze – A different slant on some seriously succulent spare ribs, the fennel slaw was a great addition.

French Dip – Made from garlic crusted prime rib, horseradish and beef jus. Prime Rib bursting with flavor, packed thick in a soft roll with a tasty jus to dip it all in, served with a huge pile of crispy Herb Fries, what’s not to like.

Did I mention it was the start of my Birthday Week Celebrations? (more on that over the next week). Maylene arrived with a delicious slab of German Chocolate cake when one of our party let it slip.

Thanks Luke’s and especially Maylene, we will be back again soon.
