Tartine Wine Bar & Eatery 2445 Edgewater Drive Orlando
As promised, more details from our visit last week to Tartine. In addition to the outstanding appetizers and entrees we sampled, it will come as no surprise to anyone who has been delighted by Chef Francois Cahagne’s dessert creations that we couldn’t leave without exploring the “Sweet Tooth” section of the Tartine menu.
It would have been an easy call to set our sights on the Crème Brulee, the French classic dessert, the Tartine version being inspired by Francois family recipe. But we just could not resist the Café Gourmand, this dessert commands attention for the individual and the sum of its parts namely, an Espresso Shot from the superb Julius Meinl Viennese coffee, a mini crème brulee, a macaroon, and for us the star of the show, the chocolate mousse. Every item of the Café Gourmand was terrific, but the Chocolate Mousse was outstanding, sweet but not too sweet, glossy and velvety on a crisp base with a ganache topping. Gonna stop there and simply add, go try one for yourself!
