EL VIC’S KITCHEN – Edgewater Drive College Park
With many new openings taking place in and around College Park we have watched with interest the recent developments on the corner of Rugby Street and Edgewater Drive in the space previously occupied by Tartine. We can now tell you that the new restaurant at this location will be El Vic’s Kitchen and they are scheduled to open in the next couple of weeks (Exact dates will follow). El Vic’s Kitchen shares that they will be a “Global Food” restaurant and feature many amazing dishes such as:
- Laal Maas
- Lamb Moussaka Bowl
- Fish Koliwada
- Butter Chicken Desi Tacos
- French Toast
- Smokey Chipotle Empanadas
The comprehensive and creative menu takes influences from all over the world but especially from the owner Sheetal Thakur’s heritage and roots of Mumbai, India. Sheetal grew up in her family owned Indian based restaurant business which encouraged her to attend catering and hospitality college to further her culinary and management skills. Sheetal came to the USA to gain international experience aiming to return to India to open a restaurant there, but after being inspired by the restaurant culture and diversity in the USA Sheetal decided that one day she would open a restaurant here. El Vic’s Kitchen is now the culmination of her dream. The chefs working their culinary magic in the kitchen are a “ Tour de Force” in themselves, bringing experience from Mumbai, Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong, California and beyond which has created the inspiration for the superb global cuisine to be offered at El Vic’s Kitchen.
Sheetal and her team are bringing something fresh and new to the diverse College Park restaurant scene, and we can’t wait to sample their creations.
El Vic’s Kitchen will be open for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Weekend Brunch as well as special events throughout the year, so they have you covered from your morning coffee fix to that extra special Lunch or Dinner.
