My French Café – Windermere
Not to be confused with any other additions to the French Café scene in this area and of similar name, My French Café is a long-standing successful local business that only recently changed ownership earlier this year.
The new owners, all of French origin, have redesigned the menu and placed all their expertise and that of their French Chef de Patisserie into creating some of the best Pastries, Breads, Croissants, Sandwiches, Panini’s, Salads, Omelettes and Soups this side of the Seine. Open for Breakfast, Lunch and early Dinner, their menu can accommodate every occasion and taste. All of their menu items are made from scratch on premises as evidenced by the bakers and chefs busily crafting these delicacies to traditional French recipes in full view of the customers (The smells are amazing). You will not find bulk bakery products made in a factory and passed off as “Freshly Made “ here. As the delicious Patisserie items fly out of the display case more are baked and brought out in what seems like a never-ending temptation and test of resolve.
We decided to go pure traditional French to test the authenticity and thought Croissants would be a good place to start so we dived straight in with a couple of freshly baked, warm Croissants. They were truly French in execution, with a light buttery texture, a reminder of so many French vacations. The Barista recommended we get Cappuccinos, he made them just how we like them and added the usual flair of froth design, so good it was almost a shame to drink and destroy the pattern.
Next, again in truly traditional French fashion was the Croque Madame, freshly baked bread topped with Creamy Bechamel, Ham, Swiss Cheese and Egg Sunny side up, the runny egg melds with the creamy bechamel sauce and other ingredients to inspire comments such as OMG! and MMMMMM!
We rounded off our Breakfast / Brunch with a Harvest Berry Sweet Crepe filled with Blueberries, Strawberries and Raspberries, the delicate Crepe was of perfect texture and stuffed full of fruit, we were full by now but thought a Mimosa would hit the spot before leaving and as My French Café freshly squeeze orange juice to order a wise decision.

My French Café have a relaxing outdoor patio and as they are situated in the Lakeside Village there is plenty of parking.
