Jade Sushi & New Asian – 2425 Edgewater Drive Orlando
As promised, here’s the full review of the great food and hospitality we experienced at Jade Sushi & New Asian on our last night out before hunkering down for the storm.
Lewis, the owner operator of Jade Sushi & New Asian is an exceptional food artist. Taking influences from Korean, Japanese and Chinese food cultures, not only does he deliver beautiful looking food but he also knocks the flavor profiles out of the park. His team of highly trained Sushi chefs and Wok masters bring years of experience in the art of Pan Asian food preparation, taste balance and traditional cooking methods that make even the simplest of dishes amazing.
The menu at Jade has recently undergone an update for the fall with the accent on providing more depth to their modern Sushi, Ramen, Noodles, Wok Dishes, Rolls, Nigiri and Sashimi. Jade also have a great selection of the traditional favorites you know and love, from General Tso to Sweet & Sour, all executed with Lewis’s attention to detail and utilizing only the finest sustainable food products available.
On recommendation, we started with the Hawaiian Poke – Tuna in Poke sauce, taro chips, micro greens and avocado. Poke is very much “En Vogue” right now, this Jade version has rich velvety Tuna delicately balanced in a complex Poke sauce. Only one word needed – More!
We decided to eat “Banquet Style” and ordered, Teriyaki Glazed Chicken – Grilled Chicken breast, teriyaki glaze, sesame seeds and steamed vegetables. Kung Pao Shrimp with snow peas, water chestnuts and soft juicy shrimp. Tempura Sampler -Shrimp and assorted vegetables lightly battered and fried. J Fried Rice – Chicken, shrimp, ham, peas, carrots and onion. At what point we stopped eating I don’t remember (we were so full) but I do remember the food was amazing both in taste and presentation with each dish standing on its own and reflecting the result of years of experience from the team back in the kitchen.
Dessert of the day was Matcha Tea Layered Crepe Cake – Layered Crepes flavored with delicate Japanese Matcha Green Tea served with figs and ice cream, rich in antioxidants and a delicious and perfect end to an amazing meal This would also be a great time to check out Jade’s extensive selection of Sake.
Don’t confuse Jade Sushi and New Asian with any of the lackluster Asian establishments in and around Orlando, this is the real deal and at a great price point. We doubt you will experience better Sushi, or New and Traditional Asian dishes for this value. Good food does not have to break the bank and Lewis and his team are dedicated to delivering this message – Please “Spread the word”!
