Make Plans For The Weekend at Mesa 21 – 1414 N Orange Ave Orlando.
About this time of the week we are sure that like us you have already started to plan your weekend. What to Eat? Where to go? Well, let us make this simple, you must, really must, make Mesa 21 part of your weekend plans. Mesa 21 is a great option at any time of the week (look out for our review on their twist on Taco Tuesday) but at the weekend they come alive, especially with their “New Look” Sunday Brunch.
Mesa 21 “All You Can Eat” Brunch is built around multiple food stations throughout the restaurant and offers a truly different Brunch experience.
Taco Station: The excellent chefs on duty will take you to “Taco Heaven”. Choose from at least six different options of protein folded into house made corn or flour tortillas, or for a complete change try a Mexican Bolillo (a traditional Mexican bread) and then garnish to your liking. Our favorites were the Chicken Tinga – pulled chicken in a mild chili sauce and of course Al Pastor – spiced marinated pork and diced pineapple.
Egg Station: If you can pull yourself away from the tacos for a moment then next stop could be the Egg Station. Breakfast Burritos, Homestyle Potatoes, Omelets made to order, Eggs a la Carte, Quesadillas, French Toast, Mexican Pancakes and last but very much not least, our favorite Chilaquiles – crispy house made corn tortillas, covered with eggs, spiced with salsa verde, onions, chorizo, cilantro and queso fresco. Authentic Chilaquiles are hard to find, the chef makes the excellent Mesa 21 version fresh, right in front of you. A great way to start the day.
Carvery Station: Pure meat lovers are not left out, as thick hand carved beef was the roast of the day when we visited, accompanied with fresh veggies and Mexican rice, you can even start this element of your feast with a delicious tortilla soup.
Salad, Fruit & Dessert Station: Not full yet? Or just more health conscious? You can load your plate up with a side of fresh salad for a little guilt free relief, or choose from their huge fruit platter, a great selection of melon, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, grapes and more. Not too far away you will be tempted by the beautifully presented chef inspired choice of desserts.
Almost forget to mention that they serve bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Maria’s alongside an extensive list of standout cocktails, unique in flavor and superbly presented.
This style of brunch reduces the long lines normally associated with buffets as the stations tend to relieve the pressure points, a smart move from the Mesa 21 management. Add to this that a lot of the food is made right in front of you and has not hung around in a steamer pan for a long time then choosing Mesa 21 is a “No Brainer”.
As always with Mesa 21, the food was amazing, and with views across Lake Ivanhoe to die for, beautifully designed interior restaurant and bars, plus excellent service, you don’t want to miss out. Add Mesa 21 to your list of must visit soon or better still make your reservation for Sunday now!!
