The art of cocktail making used to be pretty straight forward and mostly created out of a recipe book, or from long standing classic ingredients, but with the dawn of the “Mixologist” has been elevated to an art form.
So it goes for the reimagined cocktail menu at Mesa 21, expertly delivered by Sean their bar manager and chief mixologist who delights customers with fresh handcrafted cocktails that are both innovative and delicious.
Complex and unusual flavors are combined to give perfect results and balance, utilizing only the finest of ingredients and liquors.
We had to try the Margarita Verde – Don Julio Silver Tequila, Ancho Reyes Poblano, Lime, Agave, Cilantro & Mint. A delicate amount of spicy heat, paired with a premium Tequila and deceptively smooth.
Also on our list was the Honeysuckle Rose – Cathead Honeysuckle Vodka, Lemon, Agave, Blueberries, Juve de Camps Rose. Beautifully crafted and presented, the ingredients work perfectly together to be both light and refreshing and really hits the spot. Could become a great alternative to your regular weekend brunch Mimosa.
We could have chosen the Afternoon in Oaxaca – Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, House Cucumber Ginger Syrup, Lemon, Lime & Cucumber Bitters
Or the Smoke & Ash Negroni – Mezcal Nuestra Soledad Santiago, Cappelletti Apertivo, Cocchi di Torino & Orange Bitters.
Party Time? Then try the MAG 21 – A classic Margarita that serves FIVE people.
Looking for a unique cocktail? Then you must try the Millionaire Margarita – Jose Cuervo Reserva de La Familia Extra Anejo, Cointreau Orange Liqueur, Lime, Agave, Orange Bitters and Gold Salt. Made with one of the finest of Tequila’s ever produced, undoubtedly a special occasion drink, but aren’t you worth it?
Need a nonalcoholic drink? Then look no further than the amazing Aguas Frescas. These deceptively simple Mexican family staple drinks are both delicate and delightful, our favorite was the Jamaica Hibiscus Flower – Not too sweet but Oh so good!
This is truly a superb cocktail menu, so much so, we were really spoiled for choice and resolved to return to try out many more real soon. The same attention has been given to the Wine and Cerveza menu’s drawing influences from both local and worldwide brands. The price point for Mesa 21 cocktails, wine and cerveza is spot on and will allow you to try many different varieties without breaking the bank.
The staff at Mesa 21 are ultra-knowledgeable about all of their menu’s and offers and will be pleased to talk you through any ingredients that you are not familiar with and make suggestions based on your preferences.
